Detailed Engineering Design, Preparation of Construction Drawings & Technical Monitoring for Nyadi-Phidi Hydropower Project (21.4 MW)
About the Project
Nyadi-Phidi Hydropower Project is a 21.4 MW run-of-river scheme in Marsyangdi Gaupalika, Wards 6 and 7 of Lamjung District, Gandaki Province, harnessing combined flows from the Nyadi and Phidi rivers with a design discharge of 3.6 m³/s, a gross head of 695.66 m and an annual generation of 129.14 GWh. The main intake is located near Jaluchhe village on the Nyadi River at 2,948 masl; the secondary intake is on Phidi River at 3,014 masl.
North Summit Hydro Limited has engaged IES Nepal to carry out the complete Detailed Engineering Design (DED) of all civil works, preparation of "Good for Construction" (GFC) drawings, and technical monitoring throughout the construction period which is the most technically demanding and consequential phase of the project lifecycle, translating the feasibility study into legally and technically binding construction documents that will govern every civil structure built on the project.
This is an ongoing assignment running from March 2024 to August 2027, spanning the design completion and full construction period. It represents IES's most comprehensive engineering engagement on the Nyadi-Phidi project, building on three prior assignments for the same client- hydrological monitoring, access road design and construction supervision and encompasses value engineering, design review, detailed civil works design including a Bailey Bridge across the Nyadi River, and independent review of construction power and ropeway arrangements.
